What are Facial Fillers at Troy Laser Center?

What it treats
Fillers treat and temporarily smooth away:
- Juvederm Ultra Plus for the correction of moderate to severe smiling lines (aka parenthesis), marionette lines, and fuller and plumper lips
- Juvederm Voluma for the correction of sunken and hollow cheeks (aka non-surgical cheek lift) and chin volume
- Juvederm Vollure for the correction of moderate to severe smiling lines (aka parenthesis) and marionette lines
- Juvederm Volbella for the correction of vertical lip lines (aka pucker lines) and subtle lip volume
Procedure time
The filler is administered by injection into the specific facial areas. Prior to the actual filler injection, a topical and an injectable numbing solution is used for additional patient comfort. Depending on the facial areas being treated and the amount of filler required for an optimum outcome, the procedure itself can take anywhere from 20-30 minutes.
Recovery time & side effects
The Juvederm family of injectable facial fillers comes with minimal recovery. The most common and temporary side effects are swelling and bruising at the injection side, lasting, on average, 3 to 4 days, with the possibility of lasting up to 7 days. Certain medications and health conditions can possibly worsen the swelling and/or bruising; our aesthetician will discuss any of the pre-existing conditions and provide pre- and post-treatment recommendations during the initial complimentary cosmetic consultation.
Results
Results from injectable fillers vary depending on the actual depth of the facial lines and folds, the amount of filler injected,and the patient’s age among other factors. Results from injectable fillers are instant; the Juvederm family of fillers does not get better with time, however, Troy Laser Center recommends for patients to wait full 2 weeks for a final assessment . How do Facial Fillers Work and What To Expect During My Visit at Troy Laser Center?
The Juvederm family of fillers is based on an injectable hyaluronic acid gel ( a sugar molecule naturally occuring in human skin) approved by the FDAÂ to temporarily volumize cheeks, fill in and smooth away smiling and marionette lines, smooth away vertical lip lines, volumize and plump up lips, and add volume to sunken and hollow cheeks.

Consultation
During the initial complimentary cosmetic consultation, our cosmetic physician evaluates the patient's facial anatomy and structure as well as patient's expectations and desires. Based on the outcome, recommendations are made for the filler that will produce the best aesthetic results.

Treatment
Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occuring substance, the Juvederm fillers are suitable for just about any patient. Once injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid fills in plumps up wrinkles and folds and volumizes sunken areas.
