What is BioRePeelCl3 Chemical Peel Treatment at Troy Laser Center?
BioRePeelCl3 chemical peel ( biphasic technology) belongs to a new generation of chemical peels that penetrate down to the dermis but without any of the traditional skin peeling. A powerful liquid combination of 35% TCA, lactobionic acid, salicylic acid, tartaric and citric acid as well as powerful amino-acids such as proline, glycine, and arginine that, once topically applied, absorbs down to the dermal layer (the skin’s powerhouse) while leaving the epidermis intact (hence no visual peeling), regenerating and renewing the skin. BioRePeelCl3’s innovative patented biphasic technology has proven to have skin firming and tightening capabilities, but also very effective in the treatment of acne scars. It provides a bio-stimulating, revitilizing, and peeling-like effect (yet the skin does not actually peel). For optimum results, anywhere from 4 to 6 sessions, spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart, are required.

Procedure time
After cleansing the skin with a designated preparing solution , the BioRePeelCl3 chemical solution is applied onto the skin by massaging the solution until it is fully absorbed. Depending on the skin type, the process might include between 2 to 5 applications. Patients will experience mild tingling sensation – a cold air blower is available for additional comfort. Once the end point of the peel is achieved, the skin is washed with cool water and a post-peel hydrating /soothing lotion is applied. Immediately after the peel, skin might feel slightly sensitive with signs of mild redness.
Recovery time & side effects
Recovery time from standard chemical peels can be anywhere from a few days to 10 days, depending on the depth of the peel with sloughing lasting for about 3 to 4 days. BioRePeelCl3 comes with none of the traditional downtime as the solution bypasses (leaves intact) the epidermis while penetrating deep into the dermis. Patients can reassume their regular activities following the treatment. However, for best outcome, it is still recommended to cleanse the skin with a gentle facial wash , keep it hydrated with a mild moisturizer , and protect it from exposure to UV radiation with a sunscreen (SPF 30 minimum).
Results
For best results, series of 4-6 BioRePeelCl3 chemical peels , spaced 1-2 weeks apart, are recommended. The number of actual BioRePeelCl3 chemical peel treatments will depend on the area being treated and the condition of the skin prior to starting the treatments. The longevity of the BioRePeelCl3 will vary, depending on the individual’s age, lifestyle, and their home skin care regiment.

Consultation
During the initial complimentary cosmetic consultation, our cosmetic physician, Dr. Kenneth Wolok, or our medical aesthetician performs skin analysis as well as evaluates patient's expectations and desires. Pre- Treatment
The BioRePeelCl3 chemical peel treatment at Troy Laser Center starts with cleansing of the skin where a special prepping solution is used in order to remove any leftover makeup or surface oils. Once the skin is ready, the specific chemical solution is measured out and applied by massaging it into the skin.

Treatment
As the solution starts to penetrate the skin, patients will feel slight to moderate tingling or burning sensation. We keep patients comfortable by using a fan or a cold air blower- the tingling or burning usually wears off within 10-20 minutes. Depending on the skin type and condition, 2 to 5 applications of the BioRePeelCl3 solution might be administered during the same session.

Post-Treatment
Once the end point is reached, the skin is washed with cool water and a post-peel soothing moisturizer , followed by a sunscreen, is applied. Post-treatment recommendations are reviewed to assure best possible outcomes.

Lasting EffectÂ
