Dr. Mahjoub's Story
Dr. Mahjoub has been inspired and mesmerized by the functioning of the human heart since his youth years. Early on in his medical career he made a decision to devote his professional life to treating the number one human killer- cardiac disease. His studies and patient care focused on reducing the risk of heart disease, including early detection of heart disease as well as early intervention to reduce long term cardiac complications.
Dr. Mahjoub has been practicing cardiology for over 20 years and currently serves as the Director of Cardiac Cath Lab at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. He performs not only diagnostic, but also interventional cardiac and vascular procedures.

Education
Dr. Zakwan Mahjoub, a board certified physician and a cardiologist, earned his medical degree from the Aleppo University Medical School in Aleppo. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, New Jersey. Dr Mahjoub has also completed fellowships in cardiology at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and Wayne State University, where he also completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology. He has had the privilege of handling the position of Chief of Cardiology at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Rochester Hills , followed by a Cardiac Cath Director position at the same facility.
