Susan Colar, Clinical Research Coordinator
Susan Colar, RN, BSN, Clinical Research Coordinator at Tri-County Research, Inc., received her nursing degree from Grand Valley State Colleges in 1985. Her background includes approximately 20 years at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak in nephrology, neonatal intensive care, coronary care and clinical research. She has over 20 years experience in clinical research and has managed some pivotal pharmaceutical studies conducted for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C with Stuart C. Gordon, MD and worked with Cindy Grines, MD in the PAMI Coordinating Center in a monitoring role for her international cardiology studies while at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. After leaving the hospital, she pursued a challenging career in the private practice gastroenterology setting and developed that program from its infancy. While there, she worked on some groundbreaking therapies in ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease involving biologic treatment modalities. She is now focused on clinical research studies involving various health conditions in the family practice setting. Over the course of her career, Susan has been a department manager overseeing daily operations including, but not limited to program start up, budget and contract negotiations, patient recruitment and retention, data entry and various responsibilities and knowledge of the clinical research business.
